Hi, I'm Vinnie Colla
Bass Player and Music Producer
Colla, born in São Paulo, Brazil, began playing bass guitar at age 11 and has been dedicated to mastering his craft ever since. He studied under the esteemed Brazilian bassist Itamar Collaço of the Zimbo Trio, which profoundly influenced his musical development.
As a professional, Colla founded Insônica, one of São Paulo's most active function bands, performing in pubs, bars, and clubs. Over 15 years, he led the band as a performer, producer, and manager, playing nearly 220 shows per year, including weddings and corporate events. Known for his creative use of 6-string basses and pedals, Colla developed a distinct style in arranging and covering songs.
He also spent four years performing in the musical "Um Certo Fareste Caboclo," touring Brazil’s most prestigious theaters.
Colla’s experience spans both stage and studio work, with mastery of fretless bass and 4, 5, 6, and 7-string basses. Since relocating to the UK in 2014, he has worked with various London-based artists. From 2018 to 2023, he joined the British rock band Inglorious, recording three albums—"We Will Ride," "Heroine" (a cover album), and the live DVD "XXXXI Live at Phoenix." Colla has headlined major UK and European venues, including Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Islington Assembly Hall, and O2 Academy, and performed at major rock festivals.
In 2024, Colla joined The Circus of Horrors for their UK tour, playing 42 shows in 50 days at some of the country’s most iconic theaters.
As a UK-based session bassist, Colla continues to perform with leading theatre productions, function bands, and tribute acts across the country — known for his exceptional tone, professionalism, and versatile repertoire.
